Current projects

I've been a bad little blogger.  I do have a good reason.  I kinda went back to work a few weeks ago.  And the month before that was just utter crazyness.  I have been working on some fun things though.  A couple I can't show you just yet, but it'll get posted very soon.  A few I can show you right now!

I have had a bit more fun with that lovely chalk paint.  Based on yet another great Pinterest idea, I made these lovely wine glasses.  Super easy, and they make things fun.  I got Ikea wine glasses, as they were on sale around the holidays.  At that price, even if I messed them up, it wasn't the end of the world, so it was very worth a try.

Pre-Painting.  Taped them off so the lines would be clean

Voila!  They don't look odd on the table, but when you lift them, you can see a few spots where there's just no paint.

Now, I painted mine, but a friend of mine made them and just dipped the bottom portion in her larger gallon of chalk paint.  This made quite a difference.  Mine are streaky looking and you can still see through certain spots, even after 4 coats of paint.  Hers are a more even coverage.  If you have a large pot of chalk paint, definitely would recommend going the dipping route.

Another fun little thing I'm working on is a gift for my little man's first Birthday, in April.  I'll just show you a picture of one part of it, and not link to it just yet, as I do want to be able to show my finished product, but the sneak peek is nice.  Kinda hard to see, but they are little crocheted Lego pieces.

The bobbles pop out like real Legos!

Half a block done.  Hard to see though.

I'm pretty proud of myself, and truly hope I can finish it in time.  Because of course, being me, I have delusions of grandeur about that poor kid's first Birthday and am planning a fun little party.  That alone should be a few posts in itself.  I hope I can manage to get the things I want done.  Hoping to get a banner of some sort done, cute invites, some cupcake toppers maybe.  Thankfully, I have a fun new tool to help me out...

I'm in love!!  I'll get to show a little something fun I made with it after the weekend passes.  It's so nice to have an extra tool to help with the creative outlet.

Hopefully we've gotten into enough of a routine that I'll be able to post a bit more in the coming weeks.

Cheers!
